Kal is a band that has joined different musical streams and rejected “folclore” rules but finds energy in dance rhythm and balkan blues. Kal have succeeded in imposing themselves as a part of balkan gypsy tradition with future. The band was founded by brothers Dusan and Dragan Ristic. Its name “Kal” means “black” in gypsy language.
Their wish was to mix traditional balkan gypsy music and modern music, so for that purpose they engaged Mike Nielsen to make this mix and produce the album. Nielsen cooperated with Maoree and Turkish musicians as well as the stars such as Jamiroquai and Underworld.
Kal use bhangra rhythms and accordeon in tango style, Rambo Amadeus is reping, voices of Zumrite Jakupović, Adila Maksutovića i Dragana Berakovića gives the band a real quality.
