The selection motto of the 36th Novi Sad Art Exhibition was the relationship between the space spent to create space or a work of art and the time needed for the perception and consumption using the real space or a work of art defined as space. Thanks to such a conception abstract and figurative art, new media, classic painting and sculpture and other visual languages are of equal importance. All aesthetic categories regardless of their (un)pleasantness were equally accepted.
“Time in space“ was a motto for selecting 35 works of art of 32 authors. (There have been 127 applicants and 175 of their works.) All the authors live work or study in Novi Sad. The 36th Novi Sad Art Exhibition is a space in which, for the occasion, selected works of art will last for some time, but it is a space, that covers a thought sparkled in a viewer after the consumption of artistic and visual work and a time within which the thought will last in the viewer. In that way, The 36th Novi Sad Art Exhibition is the real and new space that every work of art should conquer and the time within which the work of art exists, impressing itself in viewer’s spirituality.
