World of carnival in Serbia. At the point where the Tamis river flows into the Danube, on the bank where you can hear the sound of tamburitza music, Pancevo had grown, on the door of Banat plain – the capitol of the artistry of beer making, the center of powerful industry, the town with long-lasting culture and tradition – town of carnivals.
INTERNATIONAL CARNIVAL OF PANCEVO in organization of Association "Friends of Pancevo", with patronage of Municipality of Pancevo, which is a member of Federation of European Carnival Cities (FECC) since 2004., as the most prestigious organization of this type, with about 50 member countries from all around the World. Pancevo is inscribed into the tourist map of Europe as the first city from Serbia that organizes international carnival and since 2005. Pancevo is officially European Carnival City. This important international event attend large number of visitors, participants, ambassadors and senior officials from the country and aboard. The international FECC president, Mr.Henry van der Kroon gave the highest grades and medal in 2007. for the best and most prestigeous carnival in Serbia.
It is our honor to open door of the town under the sky of Banat plain for the most important international carnival manifestation in Serbia. Welcome to carnival celebration in Pancevo, reaching a climax on 20th June 2009. BIG INTERNATIONAL CARNIVAL PARADE through the center of Pancevo, starting at 8.00 p.m.
Carnival of Pancevo followed by about 100.000 visitors and with over 3.000 participans from the country and aboard, with majorettes, brass-band and carnival groups from Serbia, Montenegro, Croatia, Slovenia, Macedonia, Italy, Romania, Hungary,....
The largest and most prestigeous street event, street theatre with spectacular fireworks, concerts on three stages, carnival DJ party, performance on stilts, samba dancers and fancy-dress party on street until early morning hours.
