Welcome to the Cinema City!
Cinema City, International new media and film festival, will take place in Novi Sad between the 14th and the 21st of June, 2008, under the steering wheel of the ‘EXIT’ organization. This year’s concept offers musical, academic, film and new media programme scheduled for 20 different locations within the city. More than a hundred films will be screened during these 8 days of the Festival.
The films will be presented under 14 separate categories of foreign and domestic production, 3 of which will enter a competition, with a few movie retrospectives. As far as the competition is concerned The Grand Prix of the festival will be awarded to one of the 12 independent international films of the „Exit Point“ category, although all movies of the „Nacionalna klasa“ category will also be eligible for the prize.
Thanks to more than 30 panels and participants coming from more than 10 countries Cinema City will be abundant with academic programme as well. Between film screenings and after daily programme, all visitors will be entertained by various concerts and will have the chance to enjoy this spectacular festive mood.
Cinema City will fill Novi Sad with film artists, directors, actors, producers, students and journalists from all over the world. Its movie and academic content was created to attract not only professionals, but a wider audience as well.
These 8 days of the festival, spreading across 7 theatres and more than 20 locations with more than a hundred movie screenings will make sure Novi Sad becomes a true ’Cinema city’.
THE NEW MEDIA PROGRAMME
An exhibition called „Territories and resources“ will through modern art production and common areas of natural and social sciences give some of the potential answers to such development of modern technologies.
MUSICAL PROGRAMME
In the very heart of Novi Sad, under open skies and occupying two locations, a varied musical programme will provide the whole event with that extra quality, promising good times to all those who decide to visit the Cinema city festival.
TICKETS
Tickets for shows in Serbian national theatre can be purchased at the theatre’s box office, while tickets for shows in Katolicka porta can be acquired in the „IPS“ shop. The price of a single ticket for the above mentioned locations is 100 dinars, but bear in mind their number is limited. Entrance to other locations will be free of charge.
