Belgrade Design Week
Third Belgrade Design Week will take place from 5 to 11 May 2008. Again, Belgrade will be the place where world’s most famous branding and advertising experts, designers, architects and business people meet.
Conference Modern2 will take place in Hotel “Jugoslavija” from 8 to 11 May 2008. The conference has been, due to its contents and contemporariness, positioned among world’s five most creative events, during this year’s Design Fashion Week. The iconic work of Serbian architecture will, on this occasion, host the leading people in creative industry.
The conference program will be focused on branding from different points of view, architectural design and contemporary architecture, the role of design in creating mass media and the influence of mass media on creating the culture of design in society, challenges and trends on increasingly competitive world market… The conference will be coordinated by today’s most creative artists. The list of participants includes such names as Daniel Libeskind, William Sawaya and Paolo Moroni, Konstantin Grcic, Ascan Mergenthaler from „Herzog & De Meuron“, Miguel Fluxa, the successor of Camper, Alice Rawsthorn, columnist of „International Herald Tribune“, Defne Koz, Bjarke Ingels, Patrizia Moroso, brothers Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec, Paola Antonelli and many others. The leaders of global and local creative industry will, on conferences, lectures, presentations, case studies, round tables and educative workshops, propose models and means for solving local problems to local industries, admininstration and businesses.
During Belgrade Design Week many events apart from the main program will take place in more than 50 locations in Belgrade. The accompanying programs include exhibitions, workshops, openings nad presentations within the city festival „Beograd2“. They are aimed at those who want to be introduced to the most modern concepts and trends in design, fashion and art.
