Legendary British singer Joe Cocker, one of the best rock singers of all times, well-known for his rough voice will perform a concert in Belgrade Arena on 9 November.
At the very beginning of his career he performed as Vance Arnold with the group "The Avengers". The pinnacle of their career was performing before the Rolling Stones in Sheffield in 1963.
After his band was disbanded, in 1966, Joe meets Chris Stanton, and that is how The Grease Band was created.
After the single "Majorine", which was somewhat popular in the US, Joe Cocker's first big success was an interpretation of The Beatles’ "With a Little Help from My Friends". The guitar part in the song was played by Jimmy Page. In 1969 he took part in “Woodstock“ festival. In the late 1970s he stops his career, having a big comeback in 1980s and 1990s. In 1994 he had a distinguished performance at the opening of “Woodstock“, as one of the rare performers who took part in the first “Woodstock“. In May 2007 his newest album "Hymn For The Soul" was issued.
