The testimony of historical importance of Kopaonik region in medieval Serbia are the remains of fortified cities on the highs of the central massife Zvecan, Koznik and Maglic, mining settlements Stari trg and Novo Brdo, churches, monasteries Gradac, Pavlica, Studenica, Zica and Sopocani as well as the Serbian rulers' memorials at the foot of Kopaonik massif.
