Golf in Serbia
Golf is one of the most prestigious and interesting games in the world. Golf is a unique game with a golf-ball and golf-club. The game is played in the nature, in a big area from 30 to 70 hectares.
There is no strictly defined size and shape of the golf-course, so that there are no two completely the same golf-courses in the world. The goal of the game is to throw a golf-ball in the hole (there are 9 or 18 holes) with as possible less hits, a golf-player can not affect a rival’s game, but only affects his own results.
Golf is the only game which reflects life, because you compete with yourself.
As in no other sports, everybody is equal. No matter whether it is about a professional or an amateur, a man or a woman – golf is a game for everybody.
Nowadays golf is getting popular all over the world; there is large number of golf-players and golf-courses in all continents. There are a few golf-courses in Serbia the oldest in Belgrade at Ada Ciganlija and one in Zabalj. A few other golf-courses are under consideration to be built. By this, Serbia meets the requirement to be on a world golf-map as a serious golf tourist destination.
