Skying at Kopaonik
Kopaonik is the biggest ski center in Serbia and one of the most beautiful centers in this part of Europe. Apart from being one of the most beautiful mountains in Serbia, Kopaonik has over 200 sunny days and is 160 days snow capped. It offers perfect conditions all year round for an active holiday and is the biggest and the most famous ski center in Serbia. It's highest peak is Pancic's peak (2017 m).
"The mountain in the sun" is the perfect name for Kopaonik because there are over 200 sunny days a year and the snow falls from late November until May. Top tracks of the ski center Kopaonik, offer unforgettable experience to all types of skiers from beginners to extremely skillful skiers. This ski center has 40 km long tracks suitable for alpine skiing and around 20 km long tracks for nordic skiing. Those who love skiing at night can enjoy the illuminated track "Malo Jezero". It is possible to cover part of the tracks with artificial snow in case of bad weather conditions. All tracks are well connected with a system of cable railways and ski lifts (capacity 27.500 skiers / hour).
A system of three new high-speed four-seat cable railways (total capacity 5.400 skiers / hour), two fixed four-seat cable railways (total capacity 4.200 skiers / hour), five two-seat cable railways (total capacity 5.880 skiers / hour), four pulling ski lifts "sidro" (capacity 4.800 skiers / hour) and nine ski lifts "plate" (capacity 7.300 skiers / hour).
Besides tracks for alpine and nordic skiing, ski center Kopaonik has an arranged snow-board park where many national and international competitions take place. Kopaonik is also perfect for paragliding.

There are three tracks according to FIS standards for slalom, giant slalom, super giant slalom and descent.

The most interesting tracks for medium good and good skiers are Krcmar, Duboka I red and black, which is harder, as well as Gvozdac and Ledenica which are the best. Suncana dolina is a good medium difficulty track and leads to hotel Putnik. For beginners there are Jaram and Karaman crest which is just in front of hotel Grand.
